Ryan Seacrest Makes Cringy Pass At Katy Perry On Live TV
The #MeToo movement is at its peak and celebrities are being heavily scrutinised for every action that they make.
And it turns out it's Ryan Seacrest's turn.
While filming an episode of American Idol recently the host was seemingly unaware that the cameras were rolling while he was being quite flirtatious with judge Katy Perry.
The segment, which was being streaming live to millions of American households at the time, saw him start by telling Perry her mum was pretty.
Perry bantered back with, "My mum? Well, I hope the apple doesn't fall from the tree!"
But it's what he said next and the way he said it that has people a little creeped out.
"You are [pretty] too. But you're not a mum yet," he continued.
"Not yet," Perry confirmed.
"Wanna talk about it?" Seacrest replied.
The comment took Katy aback and elicited awkward laughter from herself and fellow judge Luke Bryan.
The third American Idol judge, Lionel Richie, can be heard to mutter 'Don't Start'.
Social Media was quickly abuzz with people expressing how uncomfortable the moment made them feel.
It occurred during a Mother's Day edition of the show.
Seacrest was earlier this year accused of repeated sexual harassment by former E! Stylist Suzie Hardy.
But he denied the claims and E! and ABC have both stood by him after the allegations were made.
