Pizza Deliveryman Sent To Check On Grandma After Hurricane
This guy is surely in line for the best grandson of the year award!
When the worst of Hurricane Matthew was over, Clare Olsen's grandson, Eric couldn't get a hold of her due to phone lines being cut off.
Multiple states away and worried about his 87 year old grandma, he resorted to some outside the box thinking.
Eric decided to call the local Pappa John's Pizza shop to deliver a pizza to Clare and make sure that she was okay.
Delivery driver Lance Tyler from Pappa John's was unaware of just how important this delivery was until he arrived at Clare's door and read the special delivery instructions to call a number.
It took a few minutes for Clare to answer Tyler's knock on the door, as she insisted that she didn't order anything.
But when he got a hold of her grandson Eric on the phone, it all fell into place.
“The way that he answered the phone, ‘Is she there? Is she OK?’ It sounded like he was worried,” Tyler told WFTV.
“Her expression was just priceless. It was like, ‘Wow!’ Tyler told WFTV.
The pizza? Apparently the pepperoni special hit the spot.
Tyler was also given a look at Clare's family photos.
And as soon as her phone line was fixed, the 87-year-old made sure to call the rest of her family to let them know she was okay.
