How A Horror Movie Marathon Could Help Your Six Pack

Want to lose those last few kilos? Really get that six pack ahead of summer? Just Netflix all your favourite scary movies...

Yep! Little bit more enjoyable than hitting the gym, don't you agree?

The University of Westminster has released a study that says an average horror film (that goes for 90 minutes or so) can burn around 113 calories!

"Each of the 10 films tested set pulses racing, sparking an increase in the heart rate of the case studies," University of Westminster Representative Dr Richard Mackenzie said.

"As the pulse quickens and blood pumps around the body faster, the body experiences a surge in adrenaline.

"It is this release of fast-acting adrenaline, produced during short bursts of intense stress (or in this case, brought on by fear), which is known to lower the appetite, increase the basal metabolic rate and ultimately burn a higher level of calories."

So I guess it's like interval training on the treadmill... but you can do it from the couch.

We're all for that.

The ten movies used in the studies?

Glad you asked.
