Mum Defends Decision To Allow Daughter To Get Lip Fillers
An Australian mum has defended her decision to allow her 17-year-old daughter to get lip fillers, after she says her teenager’s self confidence hit an all time low.
Appearing on SBS’s Insight last night, mother Lisa Wilson, explained why she consented to the drastic procedure.
'First of all my reaction was: "You're beautiful the way you are, you don't have an issue, you're awesome", all that sort of stuff, generally what mums say,' she told the program.
'(But) the feeling kept arising. We'd chat about it, you know we're pretty open, we've got a good line of communication and it was sort of bothering her more and more,’ she continued.
Her daughter summer says she noticed her lips were different to other girls halfway through year nine and begged her mum for lip fillers.

'I saw others with prettier lips, and I was just looking at myself in the mirror and was like: "where's mine?",' the teenager revealed.
Summer says her new lips are now the envy of her school friends, who are jealous of the teen’s new pout.
'It's kind of what the trend is I see around these days, everyone wanting to get lip injections, you know seeing Kylie Jenner get them,’ she told Insight.

Plastic surgeons have reported a rise in the number of teenagers seeking cosmetic procedures. Many have put it down to the prevalence of stars going under the knife, such as Kylie Jenner. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was just 17 when she got lip injections, sparking fans worldwide to copy.
Plastic surgeons have reported that the most popular procedures for teens are rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, male breast reduction and ear surgery. Lip filler and liposuction are also on the rise.
While some plastic surgeons refuse to operate or inject anyone under the age of 18, others will perform procedures as long as they have parental approval.
