Pregnant Woman Left Shocked By Massive Australian Company
A woman who is eight months pregnant has claimed she was told she was not allowed to use a staff bathroom at an electronics store and it left her walking around for 20 minutes trying to find one.
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said she was shopping for a freezer at The Good Guys in Canberra, when she asked if she could use the bathroom, the Canberra Times reports.
She was led upstairs by a female employee who was then stopped b the store’s manager, who told her customers were not allowed to use the facilities.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the woman said ‘’'I told him "I'm a customer, I'm going to buy a freezer, and I'm heavily pregnant,' she said.
'I was very angry but I just turned around and walked out - I didn't want to get into a heated situation.'
The woman said she had previously been given excellent service at the chain, was able to go to a bathroom at a service state after about 20 minutes.
The woman contacted the store through social media and it led to the store manager contacting her to offer the mum a $100 voucher and the promise she could use the bathroom if she needed to in the future.
The woman said she was never out to 'get' or seek vengeance on the manager but to address the bigger picture.
'It's not about the money, it's about having your basic rights covered. There should be regulation or law that says you need to make your toilet available,' she said.
