The One Thing You Should Never EVER Do When Popping A Pimple
When you see a big pimple on your face, you’ll know that it takes ALL of your will power and a scoop of your sanity not to pop the thing right then and there - especially if you have a big, white head staring back at you.
However, there is ONE, huge, sinful mistake you may be making when you go in to get rid of that pimple, and it’s not actually popping it yourself that’s the concern.
According to a report on She Finds, popping a pimple using your fingers is the big ‘no no’ - as they’re the tools that can spread bacteria, cause even more inflammation and make matters far worse.
The truth is, there can be a far bigger problem to contend with. Scarring. The trick, according to the report on She Finds, is to wrap an ice cube in soft tissue or cloth and press it onto the pimple to reduce redness and inflammation.
“You will notice immediately that the pimple is smaller as the ice helps to diminish the size of the pores by constricting the blood vessels underneath the skin,” Dr. David E. Bank, founder and director of The Centre For Dermatology, Cosmetic and Laser Surgery, says.
Then, either use a tissue - or, better still, purchase a comedone extractor, which is a small metal device that aims to discharge the pus without scarring or driving the infection deeper, which is what using your fingers can do.
