One person has been seriously injured after a car slammed into a tree on Kangaroo Island last night.

The crash happened at around 9:30, with the driver airlifted to Adelaide for treatment.

And a 68-year old man is fighting for life after suffering critical injuries when his motorcycle collided with a car at Forreston yesterday.

He was airlifted to the RAH for treatment - the driver of the car was not injured.


Major Crash Investigators are looking for witnesses to a crash at St Peter's yesterday.

An elderly man suffered serious head injuries after being struck by a motorbike while crossing Stephen Terrace just after 1:30pm.

Both men were taken to hospital for treatment - the motorcyclist has since been discharged.


Four water bombers and a helicopter bomber, have helped contain a bushfire south of Adelaide yesterday

100 firefighters battled the blaze at Carrickalinga in difficult terrain, after it was started by a broken down car around 1pm.

350 hectares of scrub and grassland was destroyed in the fire.

An explosion outside an underground station in Stockholm in Sweeden has claimed the life of one man.

He sustained fatal injuries after picking up an object, which is thought to have been a hand grenade.

The victim was rushed to hospital, but died of his injuries - the incident is not believed to be terror related.
