Adelaide Is About To Get STORMY
A severe weather warning has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology predicting damaging winds for people in the Adelaide metropolitan district along with those in the Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of Mid North and Murraylands.
A vigorous cold front is forecast to move across the southern half of South Australia during Thursday, bringing with it strong and squally winds, an increase in showers and isolated thunderstorms with possible local heavy falls.
The cold front is expected to reach the Adelaide area late afternoon. Please drive to the conditions.
Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Kingscote, Victor Harbor, Mount Gambier and Naracoorte.
The State Emergency Service (SES) will have free sandbags available at the following locations between 9 am and 11 am today:
Metro South SES: Unit 33 Beagle Terrace, Lynton
Mount Barker SES: Unit 14 Simper Crescent, Mount Barker
Port Adelaide-Enfield council: (end of) Heath Street, Birkenhead
