Adelaide To Host Australia’s Biggest Boxing Match In History
Adelaide will play host to the long-awaited boxing bout between Australian favourites Danny Green and Anthony Mundine. Sport and Tourism Minister Leon Bignell made the exciting announcement this morning, revealing the fight will take place at Adelaide Oval this February.
Minister Bignell said many cities were vying to host the popular event and it's expected to pump around $4.5 million into the state's economy. The grudge match follows Mundine and Green's 2006 stoush which attracted 30,000 fans in Sydney and saw Mundine labelled top dog.
The Minister told Jodie & Soda "it will be the biggest fight in Australian history."
