Adelaide Woman Forced To Jump From Burning Building
Residents were forced to jump from a burning apartment block in Adelaide's north, following a suspected arson attack. Just before midnight fire crews were called to apartments on Amsterdam Crescent in Salisbury Downs following reports of a fire in a stairwell.
It's understood crews found a mattress set alit in the stairwell, which stopped residents on the upper levels from fleeing. One woman suffered minor injuries after she leapt from her apartment on the second floor to safety. The MFS used a ladder to help get two others residents to safety. The damage bill's been put at $15,000.
Firefighters were kept busy early this morning, with another suspiciously lit fire in Paralowie. While it's unclear whether the fires are connected, fire cause investigators will be on scene today to examine the damage.
Just after 5:30 this morning, firefighters were called to the corner of Waterloo Corner Road and Bedwin Street. Crews managed to extinguish the flames but there was extensive damage to the property.
Thankfully all occupants managed to escape unharmed. The damage bill's been put at $250,000.
