Bourke Street Rampage Driver James Gargasoulas Sentenced
Bourke street killer James Gargasoulas has been sentenced to life in prison with no parole to be given for 46 years.
Gargasoulas, 29, will have the chance to apply for parole when he is 73.
Supreme Court Judge Mark Weinberg said ‘this is one of the worst examples of mass murder in Australian history.
He said “You murdered six young people, none of whom you knew, none of whom had done you any wrong,” he said.
“The horror of what you did has profoundly affected your victims.”
In sentencing Gargasoulas, Judge Weinberg said his crimes were “extraordinary” in nature and “there are few precedents to draw upon”.
