Devastating News For Australia's Olympian Sally Pearson

Australia's Olympic sweetheart Sally Pearson has been ruled out of the Rio Olympics.

The defending 100m hurdles champion has torn her hamstring while training on the Gold Coast.

Pearson had already been in a race against time to be ready for the games after a horror preparation period where she has been sidelined with a broken wrist and achilles tendon issues.

She has a history of hamstring issues and suffered the injury over the weekend during a spring session.

Pearson will now take time out of the sport before beginning to train for the Commonwealth games in her home town of the Gold Coast.

The first time we saw Pearson was when she won the silver medal in 2008 and then managed to get Gold in the 2012 London Olympics.
