A goat has rammed the Motor Accident Commission helicopter causing it to be grounded while attending a rescue at Onkaparinga Hills.
The chopper landed in a paddock to attend a car accident yesterday afternoon unaware that a herd of goats nearby were not overly friendly to aircraft.
An SA Ambulance Service spokeswoman told The Advertiser that the goat had rammed the helicopter and damaged a window.
The chopper which is part of a fleet including two other helicopters, fixed-wing planes and all-terrain vehicles was grounded while it was assessed and repaired. It returned to active duty today.
The MAC have not pressed charges against the goat, who upon legal advice, chose to make no comment to the media after the incident.
