Hills-hiest arrested at Edwardstown

A Murray Bridge man has been arrested after he wore several layers of stolen clothing in an alleged shoplifting spree at Edwardstown yesterday.

Just before 1.30pm on Wednesday 25 July, police were called to the Castle Plaza Shopping Centre after a man allegedly had tried to leave a variety store without paying for a number of items.

On police arrival, they searched the man who was wearing five pairs of pants/trousers and a jacket under his own clothing.

The patrol then searched the man's car and discovered a large quantity of meat totalling more than $250. Police also found new DVD's, lip balm and other new and packaged items all believed to be stolen.

While police were dealing with the man he also became increasingly aggressive and disorderly.

The 41-year-old man from Murray Bridge was eventually arrested for theft, unlawful possession, disorderly behaviour and resist arrest, he was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
