Northern Suburbs Pursuit Ends With Rammed Police Car

Two women have been arrested after a pursuit with a stolen car, which also rammed a police car this morning.

Police will allege that just after midnight on Tuesday, 2 October a patrol saw a stolen Holden Colorado utility heading west on Montague Road at Pooraka.

The ute sped off after police tried to stop the ute, and police terminated the pursuit. Extra patrols and the police helicopter (PolAir) were called in to assist, and the ute was tracked throughout the northern suburbs by PolAir.

The ute eventually came to a stop in Mackinnon Parade, North Adelaide where the driver allegedly rammed a patrol car. Capsicum spray was used to arrest the two suspects, and no police officers were injured.

The driver, a 24-year-old Paralowie woman and her passenger, a 23-year-old Newton woman were charged with numerous offences including illegal use of a motor vehicle, engaging in a police pursuit and other traffic offences.

They have been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
