SA Police Dog Nero Pawses Crime Spree

A man and a woman will face court after they allegedly broke into several premises overnight in the southern suburbs.

Just after 1am on Sunday 9 September, patrols were called to Daisy Avenue at Mitchell Park after the occupant of a house heard someone breaking-in. The victim called out and then heard someone run off before finding a bag left behind.

Patrols quickly set up cordons and called in Police Dog Nero.

A few minutes later, police were advised of a woman seen running from a unit in Daisy Avenue after having tried to break-in.

PD Nero tracked towards the Ascot Park Railway Station where a man and a woman were located. The pair ran from police but were arrested after a short foot chase.

Further calls to police resulted in an attempted break-in and another separate break-in being reported in Hazel Street at Ascot Park.

An 18-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man both of no fixed address were arrested and have now both been charged with three counts of aggravated serious criminal trespass and one count of unlawfully on premises. They have been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Investigations are continuing and police are asking anyone who discovers their property or their car has been broken into to call the Police Assistance Line on 131444 to report it.
