The Bunnings Love Story That Ended In With A Crime

A Brisbane Magistrate has fined a tradie $500 for forgetting to pay for a $3 battery at a Bunnings store.

According to Daily Mail, Tim Alexander Copeman, said he was nervous about asking the check-out chick, out on a date and consequently shop lifted the battery.

Facing the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday he said he regularly went to the hardware store to buy things for his boss.

The housing contractor said he had put the battery in his pocket to free up his hands and it was never his intention to steal the battery.

But he had forgotten it was in his pocket due to nerves in asking out the check-out chick, Mr Copeman told the court.

The 32 year old was fined $500 with no conviction recorded for unauthorised dealing with shop goods.

Outside court, Mr Copeman admitted he did have success asking her out and the pair are now looking forward to a second date.
