Woman offers classic Aussie excuse sitting in stolen car

A Panorama woman has been arrested after she was found sitting in a stolen Subaru at Seaton overnight.

Just after 2am on Thursday 16 May, a western district police patrol was travelling along Tapleys Hill Road when they noticed a blue Subaru suspiciously parked behind a sign at a service station.

They stopped and spoke to the female driver, who stated she was waiting for a friend.

Police checks revealed the Victorian registered vehicle had been stolen from a Mawson Lakes address over two weeks ago.

The 24-year-old from Panorama was arrested and charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, she has been bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

"Waiting for a mate" became an infamous Aussie excuse after this reality TV episode went viral...
