Jodie and Soda rescue 97-year-old Joan with Crow Tom Lynch
Mix102.3 breakfast host Jodie Oddy said it’s the “cutest rescue we’ve ever done” and we would have to agree!
Watch the video above of Jodie and Soda giving 97-year-old Joan the surprise of her life when Tom Lynch visited as a postman!
Joan is 97 years old and has never been to a Crows game. That will change on Thursday night when she gets the special treatment to attend the match against Geelong at Adelaide Oval. She's off to the Audi Stadium Club with special thanks to Adelaide Oval. Channel 7 are going to be looking after her on the night too!
She got the news she’d be going to the game direct from Tom Lynch, who had dressed up as a postie to deliver her a package of Crows merchandise.
He took off his hat and revealed his identity but Joan still told him her favourite player was “Bettsy” (Eddie Betts).
Joan has an enlarged heart and her granddaughter Tanya says she may have days or six months to live. She wanted to do something special for her before she passes away so it was Jodie and Soda to the rescue.
Joan lost her husband 50 years ago and has been on her own since then. She lost her mother and father aged five and grew up with her eight siblings.
