Jodie & Soda Speak To INXS' Andrew Farriss & Kirk Pengilly
Jodie & Soda caught up with INXS' Andrew Farriss & Kirk Pengilly this morning to celebrate the band's 40-year anniversary and the 30 years since the release of Kick, featuring hits like ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ and ‘New Sensation’.
Pengilly says they didn’t know back then that the album was going to be such a big success and even used their own money to promote themselves.
“Live Baby Live at Wembley Stadium - we shot that and paid for it ourselves, there’s very few artists that actually have a film of themselves playing at Wembley Stadium," he revealed.
When asked about the late Michael Hutchence, the pair said there’s not a day that goes by that they don’t think about their friend.
“I missed him terrible, unfortunately people tend to zero in on the tragic towards the end of his life," they said. "In fact Michael is a very funny, witty a very happy guy as I remember… I really miss him."
The 30th anniversary edition of Kick will be released on November 3.
