Alex has stolen Adelaide's heart.  On 12 PM Friday, February 23rd, we managed to Make Alex's Day by making him the Best Firefighter Ever at the Haigh's Building, Beehive Corner at the corner of Rundle Mall and King William St.

You can follow Alex's story here below:

Here's the quick version:

But to see it all, here's the long version.

We first learnt about Alex and his family here, and immediately, Adelaide opened its heart...

Jodie & Soda got Alex and his Dad Phill into the studio to meet them.  SQUEE!

Alex told Soda about going to the Fire Station, and you can see the gears start turning in Sodas head...

Here are two examples of Adelaide's Generosity after hearing Alex's Story.

We learnt that Alex has received some great news after a recent check up.

Soda called his old workmates at the MFS to see what they can do to help, which they were bang up for, but told us we needed to find a location to fit all the people we think will want to be a part of it.

Meanwhile, Soda's just enjoying having a mate to hang out with...

Lord Mayor Martin Haese got in touch to say he would help us get a location in Rundle Mall.

Jodie & Soda rang the Deputy Fire Chief, a man affectionately referred to as "Mango"

We heard from netballing legend Michelle den Dekker, about her family's encounter with cancer, and the important work that the Childhood Cancer Association do for affected families.

Haighs came on board to let us use their store on Beehive Corner in Rundle Mall.  AND THEN, the whole thing threatened to come crashing down as the MFS told us they weren't authorised to shut down the city as this isn't a real emergency.  Ironically, making this a REAL EMERGENCY for Jodie & Soda.

CEO of Childhood Cancer Association, Cath O'Loughlin and Stu Brown from Bartons Chartered Accountants came in for a special announcement and huge $15 000 donation!

And after vowing to stay on air for as long as it took, Jodie & Soda finally got a call from SA Premier Jay Whetherill who gave us permission to lock down the city for the fire trucks!

Today Tonight's Rosanna Mangiarelli called in to let us know they were doing a story on Alex!

And here's the story they did.

SA Police Commissioner Grant Stevens called to let Jodie & Soda know SAPOL would be there, lights and sirens blazing!

Travis Boak from Port Power and Tom Lynch from The Adelaide Crows both came in to get all footy fans along on Friday.

LHD make the uniforms for the MFS - and now they've made 2 for Alex and his sister Jenny!

Alex's Mum shows Jodie & Soda the heartbreakingly-long string of beads that represent all the medical procedures Alex has had to undergo

Vision-impaired singer Rachael Leahcar has some advice for Alex on his big day.
