Are Convicted Rapists Getting The Sentences They Deserve?
#FreeKesha is trending with celebrities donating their time and money to show their support for the singer.
Why? Because Kesha wants to be free to record music with new producers as she alleges her current one “sexually, physically, verbally, and emotionally abused” her.
But the singer has been denied a court injunction which would allow her to work with other record labels, producers and song writers.
The Thinkergirls discussed this on-air and then welcomed Hannah (fake name) who bravely told her story about how she had been sexually assaulted as an 11 year old child by a family member. Hannah then described the court process that followed.
After Hannah shared her story lawyer Nick Agetzis joined the show to talk about what happens when it comes to prosecuting and sentencing rapists in this country.
If you or someone you know is struggling through something like this please know there are support services across the whole country.
