Since 2006, Adelaide Festival Centre has celebrated the diversity and talent of South Australia’s Aboriginal artists through the OUR MOB program of exhibitions and events.
Working in partnership with Country Arts SA and Ananguku Arts and Culture, OUR MOB, a statewide community program, gives South Australian Aboriginal artists the opportunity to showcase their art in exhibitions held in Adelaide Festival Centre foyers and gallery. Over the years the OUR MOB project has boosted the careers of numerous Indigenous artists and generated sales to support their art practices and families.
Entry to OUR MOB is open to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists living in South Australia. This includes young people, emerging artists and experienced elders. 2016 applications have closed and over 80 artists have had their work selected for exhibition.
Emerging artists have applied for the Don Dunstan Foundation and Country Arts SA OUR MOB Emerging Artists Prizes, and young artists are eligible for the Our Young Mob prize. The work of South Australian Aboriginal artists are as diverse as their environments and histories. This is your chance to purchase artwork for your home or office and view these fascinating, innovative pieces in one place – a tribute to the Indigenous talent that exists right here in South Australia.
