The frontman of British band Jamiroquai has been forced to deny he took part in the chaos at the US Capitol on Thursday after one of the rioters, a shirtless QAnon supporter with a pair of horns on his head, started trending on social media.

The electro-funk performer often wears headgear during shows, including glowing spikes to ornate feathered helmets… and viking horns.

But Trump supporter he is not.

“Good morning Washington,” Kay captioned his video tweet.

“Loving the headgear, but not sure that’s my crowd. Stay safe everyone.”

The rioter Jay Kay was mistaken for has since been identified as QAnon conspiracy theorist Jake Angeli, 32, who regularly attends far-right rallies in Arizona, usually wearing a fur helmet and paints his face to attract attention, according to The Arizona Republic.

Kay confirmed he’s actually in lockdown at home.

“Some of you may be thinking you saw me in Washington last night, but I’m afraid I wasn’t with all those freaks,” he laughed.

“Just to say, yeah, happy new year to all of you! Haven’t seen you for ages. I’m locked down in the UK.”
