Jimmy Barnes is on the mend after falling and copping a “deep cut and severe bruising” during a performance this week.
Barnesy, 62, was the headline act at the Mount Isa Rodeo on Sunday night when he tripped, sending one of his legs into a 30cm gap between two platforms.
While many fans were unaware that he was hurt following the fall, some reportedly said that they noticed blood trickling down Barnes’ leg.
Regardless, he finished the set but spent that night in hospital.
“We were down the back and we could not tell anything was wrong,” one local told The North West Star.
“I guess that just proves he is a true blue Aussie rocker because the show went on without a hitch.
“He was fantastic.”
A spokesman for Barnesy told Music Feeds that the singer be OK to walk the red carpet at the premiere of his movie Jimmy Barnes: Working Class Boy on Thursday night.
The movie will open nationally (albeit limited release), on Thursday, August 23.
