The prize is so incredible that it made everyone at Mix102.3 – especially Jodie and Soda – so nervous.
This morning they had the responsibility of calling the winner of the Grand Prize in the Hospital Research Home Lottery.
The grand prize is a $2 million fully furnished Scott Salisbury home on The Esplanade at Brighton AND $1 million cash.
200,000 tickets were sold in 8-9 days such is the popularity of the lottery, which also features another 20,000+ prizes.
The randomly drawn name provided to Jodie and Soda by the Hospital Research Home Lottery was Kym from Prospect.
Jodie had the honour of telling him that one of the tickets he purchased had won him the grand prize.
“Firstly thank you for supporting such a worthy cause, that’s very kind of you,” Jodie said. “And Kym, can I tell you that one of those tickets that you purchased has won you the grand prize of $3million dollars.”

“Are you serious?” was his first response.
“I’m very serious, Kym,” Jodie replied.
His next comment was quite memorable.
“I’ve had a big week this week. I passed a kidney stone earlier,” he told them.
“I’m a bit shakey at the moment, I’m sorry.
“I’ve been on medication for about four days.
“My wife is just in front of me clapping me. Normally she’s throwing something at me.
“I’m still a little bit gobsmacked.
“Much appreciated, it’s a great cause and we very much appreciate it”
Jodie and Soda also spoke to Kym’s wife Andrea, who said she hadn’t won anything since she was a teenager and won tickets to an SANFL Grand Final that was even before Soda’s time.
“How wonderful, can not believe it, that’s magnificent,” Andrea said.
And if you’d like to say congratulations to Kym and Andrea, it sounds like you might be able to spot Kym doing a bit of crabbing before too long.
“Can I just ask you, are they catching any blueys off the Brighton Jetty?” he asked!
