Jodie and Soda have proved they simply just like to help south australians in need, by jumping to the rescue of a listener of another radio station.

The Mix102.3 breakfast radio hosts are particularly known for their ‘rescues’ and when they were alerted to a contestant on a rival station in dire need, they decided they’d try to help anyway.

In recent days, ‘Kerry from Eudunda’ attempted to win cash on the station’s regular game.

Unfortunately, she walked away with nothing.

She had told the on-air hosts that she had “a few bills” and her Mum had recently passed away.

“She didn’t have any money so I had to take out a loan for her funeral and a few other things,” Kerry said on the other station.

She also had to turn down the station’s offer for Fringe tickets that night.

Jodie and Soda decided to try to ‘right a wrong’ but given she was on a different station, they didn’t have Kerry’s surname or phone number, just her first name and where she lived.

Jodie and Soda’s wonderful FOTS (‘friends of the show’) jumped at the chance to help, ringing the station with any information they could and sharing a Facebook post about Kerry far and wide.

Eudunda may be a small community but it is obviously tight-knit and they were keen to help when given the chance. Jodie and Soda spoke to a truckie from Eudunda, the local postie, someone who works in the bakery there and THEN someone who had worked with Kerry at Bank SA and had her number.

Jodie and Soda called the number.
