Former Friends actor Matthew Perry was recently hospitalised to undergo emergency surgery on his bowel.
A rep confirmed that he was hospitalised on Tuesday in LA.
“He is grateful for the concern and asks for continued privacy as he heals,” the rep said in a statement.
Perry required a repair after a gastrointestinal perforation (ruptured bowel).
The internal injury can be caused by a range of things from eating a sharp object, trauma and alternate medical treatments such as a colonoscopy.
It has not been reported how the 48-year-old’s bowel was perforated.
