Celebrity personal trainer Michelle Bridges has revealed that she has split from long-term partner Steve ‘Commando’ Willis in the wake of her alleged drink driving scandal.
Michelle was allegedly caught driving over the legal alcohol limit in Bellevue Hill over the long weekend with her 5-year-old son in the car.
She has since spoken out about the incident in The Daily Telegraph, saying that it was an “error in judgement” after going through a period of “emotional turmoil”.
“I would like to express my deep regret for breaking the law, this was a terrible mistake and an error of judgement,” she said in a statement according to the publication.
“This behaviour is inexcusable, and I am absolutely devastated and embarrassed to find myself in this position. It has been a very difficult time for me the last few weeks dealing with the break-up of my long-term relationship.
“This is by no means an excuse for my behaviour but I feel the emotional turmoil I have been going through has impacted my decision making. I am extremely sorry for my actions.”
The Biggest Loser star was pulled over on Sunday morning on New South Head Road in Sydney’s east before being taken to Waverly Police Station where she allegedly blew a reading of 0.086.
Police confirmed that a 5-year-old passenger was in the car at the time of the incident.
Michelle shared 5-year-old Axel with her now former partner and fellow fitness trainer Willis. The pair first got together in 2013 after meeting on The Biggest Loser.
Bridges is due to appear in Waverly Local Court on February 18.
