There’s something in the air because suddenly I have the urge to start wearing sweatbands and work on my backhand.

It must be the fact that six tennis superstars champs are gracing us with their presence (even though it’s in quarantine).

Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, Simona Halep, Dominic Thiem and Naomi Osaka flew into Adelaide last night to conduct their mandatory 2-week quarantine ahead of the Australian Open and Adelaide’s A Day at the Drive.

The players have the exemption to train at Memorial Drive, however, under strict conditions. So unfortunately you won’t be bumping into Serena Williams at your local supermarket.

Andy Murray, former World Number 1, has not made the trip to Australia yet as he has tested positive for COVID-19. He still hopes to make it to Australia for the Australian Open starting on February 8, once he is COVID free.

Players and their support staff were taken from the airport to the new

Majestic M Suites in North Adelaide, which just so happens to be across the road from MIX102.3 studios.

Don’t worry, we’ll keep an eye on things for you Adelaide.
