A sexually frustrated dolphin has caused a beach to ban swimming after it was scaring tourists and locals by trying to rub up against them.

Some swimmers at the French seaside village of Brittany have also reported that the dolphin has tried to prevent them from leaving the water.

Small boats and kayaks are also among those being sexually harassed.

The dolphin, nicknamed Zafar, has been hanging around for months, much to the delight of tourists and kids at the local sailing school… but that recently changed.

Local media have reported stories from tourists over the dolphin’s less-than-savoury sexual antics.

Dolphins can sometimes display sexual behaviour towards other species, including humans.

“Swimming and diving are banned on the village shoreline… whenever the presence of the dolphin is confirmed,” said a new bylaw issued last week by mayor Roger Lars.

“Approaching within 50 metres of the dolphin is also forbidden,” it said.

It was reported he issued the new rules “to ensure people’s safety” after Zafar’s recent behaviour.
