Her rise was a global phenomenon, her downfall was a cruel national exhibit now Britney Spears speaks up.

Last night the controversial documentary by the New York Times aired on Channel 9 and if you ever dreamt about fame and fortune – think again.

The base of last night’s documentary showed that Britney was hunted and haunted by her fame.

The film documented Britney’s transformation into a poster girl for sexualisation, with her mental health suffering as a result. The documentary also covered the way people used to make money off of Britney, even after she suffered a breakdown.

“She needs our help and I’m using my platform to advocate it,” said a commentator on the documentary.

13 years ago, she was forced to hand over control of her life, and finances to her father. People close to Britney Spears and lawyers tied to her conservatorship, now reassess her career as she battles her father in court over who should control her life.

You can now watch the chilling documentary on 9 Now.
