It was mostly pranks, bets and barbs when the Power’s Travis Boak and Crow Tom Lynch were together in the Mix102.3 studio with Jodie and Soda on Friday morning but not all of it was nasty.
In fact one comment from Lynchy seemed to pique everyone’s interest.
The Crows linkman said he enjoys playing in the Power’s home Showdown as it includes their now infamous ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ pre-game song.
“I actually don’t mind the Port showdown, you get to hear the song they sing before the game and it gets you revved up,” Lynch said.
“It’s pretty cool I think.”
It brought a look of surprise respect from Boak sitting next to him.

MORE: Jodie and Soda’s massive Showdown prank on Tom Lynch and Travis Boak!
Since moving to Adelaide Oval, the Power fans have become known for standing up with their scarves in the air and singing the INXS classic tune in the minute before the game’s first bounce.
It is meaningful to Port fans who were hurt by attempts to separate the club with when it joined the AFL and remained in the SANFL.
But of course it’s been something opposition fans have enjoyed making fun of over the years.
Port fans doing a rendition of ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ is about as lame as it gets but I expect no less from them tbh #AFLPowerNorth

I don’t know about ads, but Port Power has ruined INXS Never Tear Us Apart for me

In all seriousness that Port Adelaide “Never Tear Us Apart” bullshit is the most contrived piece of childish buffoonery since the Bluebirds.
— Windy Hill Windsock (@WHWindsock) July 6, 2014
They had to put the words to “Never tear us apart” on the big screen because Port Power supporters didn’t know the words.
Then they took it down because they found out most Port supporters can’t read #AFLPowerTigers #AFL

Maybe with Lynchy’s endorsement, those fans will have to eat their words?
Probably not.
Port’s “never tear us apart” is brilliant……
