Congratulations are in order for Turia Pitt and her fiancee Michael Hoskin, who have welcomed their second child into the world.
Turia announced on Instagram that she had given birth to a baby boy named Rahiti.
“Maeva i te ao nei! Welcome to the world Rahiti,” she wrote alongside some beautiful pictures.
The pair are already parents to son Hakavai, aged two.
32-year-old Pitt and Hoskin are high school sweet hearts and have managed to build a beautiful life together despite Turia going through one of the toughest ordeals of her life back in 2011.
The former ultra-marathon competitor suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body after becoming trapped by a grass fire during an ultra-marathon in the Kimberly.
She spent five months in hospital and wasn’t expected to survive but against all odd she pushed through. She has since become a motivational speaker and has written three books.

Over the past few months, I’ve been blown away by this country and the people that call it home. Through devastation and fear, I’ve seen countless acts of generosity and empathy. I’ve seen my mates travel by kayak up and down the lakes and estuaries to feed hungry and thirsty wildlife. People jumping in their tinnies to evacuate families. I’ve seen people checking in on their neighbours, cooking meals for friends and strangers, opening their homes to people stranded in fire-stricken holiday towns. We’ve given whatever we can afford and we’ve rallied around each other, even when we were scared and anxious. And I’ve honestly never been prouder to be Australian. We should celebrate this great country, but we need to find a way to do so that includes our indigenous people and respects their culture. We’ve proven, time and time again, that we are a nation of empathetic, generous, inclusive people, so let’s act in that spirit and #changethedate.
Congratulations to the happy couple on the birth of their second child!
