It’s the most controversial rule since Free Parking became a cash haven in Monopoly.
Now it’s card game Uno’s turn to divide families against each other.
For years we’ve been getting out of having to draw four by putting a ‘draw 4’ card down on top of a ‘draw 4’ card to make the next person draw 8 instead.
It has meant sometimes people will have to draw as many as 16 or 20 cards at once, if they can’t put down a ‘draw 4’ of their own and pass it on to the next person.
But the people at UNO have decided to put a stop to all that.
A tweet from the official UNO account ‘@realunogame’, made it very clear that a ‘draw 4’ card means you have to draw four and there’s no card you can put down to avoid it.
The tweet read: “You CANNOT stack draw 2 and draw 4 cards.
“If someone puts down a +4 card, you must draw 4 and your turn is skipped. You can’t put down a +2 to make the next person Draw 6. We know you’ve tried it.”
That means the highest amount of cards anyone can ever pick up in one go is four.

Well hasn’t that thrown a spanner in the works.
Wish they could tweet a certain someone’s sister so she knows if you pick up a card you have to wait until your NEXT turn to put it down… there’s none of this ‘pick it up and put it straight down’ business!
This new rule has caused havoc over at Mix102.3 breakfast host Jodie Oddy’s house.
Watch the video above as Jodie takes us right inside her house to a vicious argument amongst her family over the new rule.
“Uno is so big in our house there’s a championship trophy, the Oddy International, and it is awarded each week to whoever is the Uno champ,” she said.
Jodie said the new rules were “welcome news to the six-year-old who had to pick up 16 yesterday!”
But the ‘no stacking’ rule also caused a massive argument that included Summer screaming “stand back“… hear it in the video above.
PS How good’s the feeling when you save a Draw 4 wild as your last card. The only problem now is that you might have to draw four instead of getting to put it down and win the game… eeek.
