We know that Jodie & Soda’s friend of the show are the kindest, most caring listeners in all of radio (and we will fight anyone who says otherwise!)

Ebony had been in Renmark caring for her Dad who sadly passed away at Christmastime.

When lockdown lifted Ebony’s family and friends wanted her back in Adelaide instead of the Riverland by herself.

She used up all her savings on moving back, but her car was way overdue for a service, to the point that it was unsafe to drive. Jodie & Soda happily let Ebony write her own cheque for $1,800 to get her car back in good working order.

But it was what happened next that really blew us away. Ebony had been working as a kitchen assistant until COVID left her unemployed. Having heard Ebony’s struggles to find work, the Mix 102.3 phone lines blew up with generous listeners offering her jobs at their businesses.

Angelo from Alfresco Pizza E Cucina in Evanston got in touch to offer Ebony work as a kitchen hand. Take a listen to the touching moment…
