It’s getting colder and winter is almost here so that must mean it’s time to start eating lots of cheese (hey, any excuse will do us)!
And the good news is that we’re going to get a HUGE chance to actually eat all the cheeses when the Cheese-A-Holic Cheese Festival returns to Adelaide at a new venue.
Instead of the smaller Plant 4 Bowdon, where it has been previously, this year it will be held at the enormous Morphettville Racecourse!
It’s not quite going to be the new Big Day Out though, the event will be held in the Derby Pavilion, with tickets limited to 2000.
It all happens on Sunday 21 July from 10am – 5pm. Tickets are $15, and children under 15 admitted free.
“Join us for delicious cheese, alcohol, condiment sampling, entertaining free demonstrations, fine food and masterclasses,” the event promises on its website.
The event will include offerings from over 25 artisan producers and wholesalers of cheese, wine, gin and condiments from across the state.
Cheese producers and suppliers include Alexandrina Cheese Company, Barossa Cheese Company, Milkless Vegan Cheeses and Edwards Crossing.
Nothing goes better with cheese than a tasty drink so why not sample some sparkling wines from Lloyd Brothers and Smidge wineries, a lovely gin from Never Never Gin or an amazing craft beer from Big Shed Brewing Company.
What is a cheese platter without all the scrumptious condiments to enjoy including Penfield Olives, Spice Girlz, Lost Loaf and Port Willunga Fine Foods to name just a few of the fantastic producers attending this year’s Cheese-A-Holics Cheese Festival.
There will also be free demonstrations rolling throughout the day including the Artisan Cheese Academy, as well as food vans including Gang Gang Burgers and Ozzie Gozleme, and music by DJ Ryley.
