Famers Union Iced Coffee is South Australia’s drink of choice and for good reason.

The stuff is mother’s milk, liquid gold, call it what you will.

Thousands of Adelaide tradies start their day with it, and they drink it primarily straight out of the carton.

Well, not any more they don’t.

The 375ml carton of Farmers Union Iced Coffee will no longer be produced.

Instead a new 300ml plastic bottle will hit the shelves.

That will leave us with plastic bottles in 300ml, 500ml, 750ml, and 2L, with the 600ml carton remaining.

A Lion Diary and Drinks spokesperson has been quoted by The Advertiser as saying the FUIC brand was “focused on sustainability for generations to come”.

They say their plastic bottles are made of high-density polyethylene and is fully recyclable.

No word on how long the iconic 600ml carton will last.
