Kangaroo Island Spirits will be transformed to house a larger distillery and tasting room under new plans for the KI business.

The $3 million upgrade will aim to bring more visitors to the island, and will create 25 new ongoing jobs for the island.

The upgrade will feature a new tasting space that overlooks the functioning distillery with a space big enough for events, classes and group tastings.

The new development comes as the island continues to recover from the double blow of the devastating summer bushfires and lockdowns put in place from the pandemic.

Kangaroo Island Spirits co-founder Jon Lark told The Advertiser that things are beginning to look better for the island.

“We’ve just had our busiest June on record,” Mr Lark told The Advertiser.
