Beer and cups of tea are two of the cornerstones of Australian society, so bringing the two together just makes good, Australian sense, right?
South Aussie brewery Pirate Life thinks so, at least.
The Port Adelaide-based brewers are teaming up with famous tea company Dilmah to produce what is potentially Australia’s first collaboration between a tea and a beer.
The Pirate Life Tea and Biccies Brown Ale will be available from this weekend, and sounds like the perfect beer for this miserable weather we’ve been having.
Pirate Life Brewing’s founder Michael Cameron says that the beer is meant to be a little bit challenging.
“We are planning to push the boundaries on what tea and beer can be,” says Michael.
But what does it actually taste like?
According to Michael you can expect fine tannins, freshly-baked biscuit and herbal undertones.
The first batch of Tea and Biccies will be available from Friday 25 September on limited release in select bottle shops throughout Adelaide.
You will be able to catch the full list of stockists on Pirate Life’s social pages.
