Coles has today announced that it will be doubling down automation, as it looks to cut $1 billion in costs from its business over the next four years.

That means, for us customers, more self serve checkouts, including bigger versions that means we can take our trolleys to them.

The addition of more self-serve checkouts will also see Coles introduce new upgraded anti-theft systems to combat its part of the $9.3 billion retailers loses to shoplifters each year.

As well as these automation efforts, Coles will also continue to use UberEats to help customers get their food delivered.
