Tasting Austalia kicks off today with over 140 events on offer over 11 regions for the next 10 days. We hope you’re hungry because there’s so much amazing food and beverages that you won’t be able to stop yourself from trying everything.
From April 30 to 9 May, Tasting Australia will fill the streets of the Town Square in Victoria Square with everything kicking off from 11:00am today.
Free to enter and open daily until late (excluding Monday May 3), the buzzing festival hub features six unique bars and 13 food vendors, cosy firepits, live music and ample seating, making it the perfect place to meet for a drink, stay for a meal and explore.
World-class chefs will take the stage in masterclasses, decadent tastings of beer, wine and spirits which may leave you a bit wobbly on your feet, and of course an astonishing array of food that will send your tastebuds into outer space.
South Australian Premier Steven Marshall recognised the importance of Tasting Australia to the state, saying
“Tasting Australia is the perfect opportunity to truly showcase what South Australia does best – our produce and our talented chefs, winemakers and distillers all coming together to put on 10 days of amazing programming.”
With over 140 events, you will be overwhelmed with options. Pirate Life is hosting a Beer Sensory Masterclass, the Autumn Harvest Feast which boasts a 3-course lunch, Mayura Station Rare Cuts featuring world-class wagyu for those meat lovers, or for those who aren’t there’s Seed & Soil which is all about plant-based cooking. But the event we’re most excited for – The Festival of Sausage In Bread, which of course, is all about the humble snag.
There are so many events and something for everyone. You could be shucking fresh oysters one day and swirling a beautiful vintage wine the next.
