At the moment we’re being told that the best way for us to combat the coronavirus pandemic is to practise social distancing and maintain a distance of 1.5m between each person.
So you can understand why this footage of passengers arriving at Sydney airport yesterday has gone viral as it shows the complete lack of concern for the social distancing rules.
I am livid 😡
This was international arrivals at @SydneyAirport this morn.

In the video footage, which has since gone viral on Twitter, people can be seen crowding together in lines as they wait at the arrivals gate. There doesn’t appear to be any authorities or any systems in place to help people adhere to the rules.
It’s basically showing everyone doing exactly what we’re being told not to do – hang out in crowds and standing practically shoulder-to-shoulder.
This comes as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in NSW has risen to 1,219 people with many cases originating from people arriving from overseas.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says that she hasn’t ruled out putting in further restrictions in our state in order to stop the rise in case numbers.
“If we don’t see things shifting in the numbers because of those actions NSW will have to go further. We are only at the beginning of this, Ms Berejiklian said.
“I want to brace everybody for what might happen in the next little while.”
