Adelaidians are getting even more crafty as they level up the craftsmanship from hand-painted number plates to wooden number plates.

The baffling incident comes only a day after a man was caught with finger-painted plates and a helpful message of ‘Not stolen OK’. Now a man has tested his woodwork skills and attached them to the painted original plates.

Police were conducting a driver testing station on Main North Road at Sailsbury Heights when the 47-year-old man was directed in at around 12:30am. Driving a Nissan sedan, police noticed the 3D-like lettering on his number plates.

Queries revealed the man has a disqualified licence and his car is uninsured and unregistered since September.

The two incidences are so similar it’s bizarre!
