Premier Steven Marshall announced yesterday that the NSW covid concerns are growing with additional exposure sites being added daily from the new ‘Delta’ strain of the virus.

Due to this concern further restrictions have been put in place between SA and NSW. Effective immediately, the border to SA is closed to those in NSW, apart from those living within 100km of the SA border.

For those who are within the 100km border, you are able to travel unrestricted.

For everyone else, the only entries permitted into SA are those returning home to SA, moving permanently to SA, those escaping domestic violent situations but they must quarantine for 14-days on their arrival. Essential workers will also be permitted into the state.

Premier Steven Marshall said at a press conference “the reality is we are dealing with a highly infectious virus, particularly difficult strain. The steps that have been taken, I’ve been strongly advised by SA Health are in the best interests of South Australia. The advice … provided an elevated level of concern.”

The tough restrictions are extremely frustrating for many, particularly those in country NSW who have not had any exposure sites or positive cases.
