Now we can really say we welcome everyone with open arms because South Australia has been named in the Top 10 Most Welcoming Destinations in Australia for 2021.
Booking.com has gone deep into the customer reviews, have climbed every mountain and slept in every hotel room and they have decided that Tanunda in the Barossa Valley is the 9th the Most Welcoming Destinations of 2021.
The top 10 list is based on the share of properties receiving an award and includes the following locations across Australia:
- Maleny, QLD
- Denmark, WA
- Hervey Bay, QLD
- Margaret River Town, WA
- Montville, QLD
- Rockhampton, QLD
- Mildura, VIC
- Bendigo, VIC
- Tanunda, SA (yay!)
- Mount Tamborine, QLD
Tanunda is located 70 km outside of Adelaide in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Surrounded by some of Australia’s best wineries, you’ll never be thirsty around the historic town.
Area Manager of Booking.com Australia, Luke Wilson, said the country’s award achievements highlight the excellent hospitality Aussies are known for.
“As travel restrictions continue into 2021, continuing to support the Australian tourism industry outside of peak demand periods is critical to keeping local businesses alive. These destinations offer great options ready to welcome travellers wanting to make the most of new year deals as borders open.”
“It also has become even more important to celebrate the outstanding service that the Traveller Review Award winners displayed during a year like no other. On our mission to make it easier for everyone to experience the world, our partners play such an impactful role in delivering amazing experiences to travellers and I know that with their tenacity, partnership and passion, we can rebuild travel in Australia together,” Wilson said.
Booking.com has also announced countrywide early 2021 deals in order to encourage domestic travel throughout Australia. Travellers can book from now through to 31 March 2021 at select properties offering a minimum 20% off. Participating accommodations are available here on Booking.com.
