Following some confusion and a public backflip from the state’s Police Commissioner, South Australia has opened up its borders with the ACT for the first time in months.

However, despite predictions, the state border with New South Wales remains effectively closed for the time being with those coming from the state subject to mandatory quarantine.

SA has now lifted border restrictions with the ACT, Northern Territory, Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia.

However, questions remain about when free travel will be permitted with the nation’s most populous state.
