Four weeks after Channel 10 announced that it would be winding up nightly news bulletins out of its Adelaide studios, the network has granted a reprieve to one local presenter.
In news that was not previously made public, Adelaide’s Kate Freebairn will join presenters Jennifer Keyte and Stephen Quartermain to present the nightly bulletin.
Last month, the network announced that it would begin producing a joint Adelaide-Melbourne bulletin, with a network weather presenter.
However, a statement from Network 10 says that they have “evolved the way it will present weather in its new 10 News First broadcast model.”
Freebairn will be filming separate weather reports for Adelaide and Melbourne.
While she will be based in Adelaide for now, it is understood that Freebairn will eventually move to Melbourne when the state’s COVID-19 restrictions lift.
The final Adelaide-based news bulletin will air this Friday evening.
