Fans at Tuesday night’s Big Bash League game between the Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades were subject to police and health screenings following a tip-off that someone who visited a coronavirus hotspot had planned on attending the game.
The Advertiser reports that SA Health had received information that a contact of a case in Victoria had planned to attend the match.
Police and health authorities were unable to find anyone at the game who had visited a hot spot.
Announcements were made over the Oval’s PA system throughout the game, with punters being directed to speak to police or SA Health if they had been in Victoria recently.
Health authorities say that the screening was precautionary and the results were no need for concern.
