Erin Phillips will miss tomorrow’s AFLW match against North Melbourne in Hobart, citing soreness from yesterday’s training session.

“I pulled up a little bit sore from training last night and I guess with a six day turnaround, it’s not worth the risk of playing this week,” Erin told Soda.

Hear Erin telling Soda that she won’t be playing this weekend:

Although Phillips told Soda that there’s no need for concern.

“I think I’ve been out for almost eleven months so it was my first game back after eleven months and, you know, you can’t simulate game speed or effort like that. So, you know, I think this is quite normal really.”

“I don’t want to miss any games and it’s not something I want to go through, but I’m optimistic that I’ll settle down and get back for next week’s home game”.

The news comes after both ruck Jessica Foley and forward Eloise Jones were ruled out of the already injury-ravaged team.
